Layout margins on Ultra-wide (5120x1440) with 125% Fractional Scaling on Wayland

First of all, thank you for this great application! It is exactly what I was looking for.
The application does not utilize the full width of my 32:9 monitor (5120 x 1440). Instead of filling the screen, it leaves large empty margins on the left and right.
It seems the layout calculation is failing due to the combination of an ultra-wide resolution and fractional scaling (125%) under Wayland.

Environment:

• OS: EndeavourOS (Kernel 6.18.5-zen)
  

• Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6.5.5- 
  

• Windowing System: Wayland- 
  

• Scaling: 125%- 
  

• Resolution: 5120 x 1440 (32:9)
  

To Reproduce:

• Use KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland.
  

• Set display scaling to 125%.
  

• Use a 5120x1440 resolution.
  

• Attempt to tile windows; observe that they don't reach the screen edges.
  

Expected behavior: The windows should snap to the actual screen edges, accounting for the fractional scaling factor.

Additional context: Is there a way to manually define the screen boundaries in the mousetiler_config to bypass the auto-detection?

Currently running 6.5.4 have not updated to 6.5.5 yet as I've been busy coding.

Did you set some margins in the settings?

Which version of the script are you running?

Also are you perhaps using more than 1 monitor? I only run a single 5120x1440 myself.

So, good news and bad news.

Good news, I reproduced it now. Just updated to 6.5.5. No idea if the issue existed before, from my limited testing I did not see it, but I have a black background. I only see the issue if I place something colored behind it and then I get a 1 px wide line.

The bad news is: ALL tilers I tried have same issue, the built in tiler (Shift + drag), KZones, Meta + Arrows...

So issue must be in plasma itself. But no idea if it's new to 6.5.5 or just scaling in general.

Anyway, I will implement "screen edge margin". I will allow the margin to be negative, so you can set it to like -1 or -2 and windows will be larger than the tile.

I will not implement it any time soon, probably earliest on Friday or Saturday, I'm busy implementing the tile editor.

I hope you can live with the issue until then?

Ahh, you activated "Center In Tile" as your default perhaps?

I will add a hint that you are centering, so you know in which mode you are in. :)

To toggle Center In Tile and regular Tiling (which is probably what you want) you need to press Ctrl+Meta+C or change the setting back so it's "Tile normally" :)

I've greatly re-worked the hints so now it should be more obvious which mode user is in. Available in v3.0.1
