Whole-screen tiling option does not maximise window

The top-left option implies it will maximise the window.

When maximised, the titlebar buttons should look like so

However, they look like this

Meaning that the window is still floating i.e. not maximised.

I will look into it in a few days, currently working on some other feature and got some other things in queue. In my current theme, the buttons look the same, so will have to find a different theme.

However there is a big difference, one resizes the window, the other keeps the old size. So will probably add a checkbox in settings to enable it.

I would argue this is expected behaviour so no need for additional logic or settings. If you make a floating window the size of the screen but without maximising it, Plasma remembers it, so it will launch at that size every time.

Maximising is therefore a good way to remember two different "states" of a window: one is "when maximised" and the other is whatever you set it to.

Sorry thought I posted an update. I will be working on this next. An 1x1 tile is just a normal tile (and will still be supported), I will also add maximized (needs a special implementation in the code), full screen, empty screen, and a few additional default layouts.

Here are the special layouts I'll be adding:
SPECIAL_MAXIMIZED - this is the one you want, just replace the 1x1 with this in the default layout
SPECIAL_FULLSCREEN - need to exit with Alt+F3 or built in UI
SPECIAL_EMPTY - this is for people that want to add tiles that expand outside a single screen, like one app spanning two monitors

However currently I'm reinstalling my Fedora (got like 15 browsers and so many other apps installed that I installed during development process of Remember Window Positions and the tiler - will be testing everything in the future, but when I started, I did not have any virtual machines installed).

Hopefully I'll be up an running early next week.

Ended up adding:

• SPECIAL_MAXIMIZE - same as clicking "⌞⌝ Maximize" in the titlebar - useful when using windows without titlebar
• SPECIAL_MINIMIZE - same as clicking "🗕 Minimize" in the titlebar - useful when using windows without titlebar
• SPECIAL_FULLSCREEN - sets window to "🗖 Fullscreen", use Alt+F3 to exit (if there is no other way to exit fullscreen)
• SPECIAL_KEEP_ABOVE - toggles the "▲ Keep Above" others
• SPECIAL_KEEP_BELOW - toggles the "▼ Keep Below" others
• SPECIAL_NO_TITLEBAR_AND_FRAME - toggles the "⊘ No Titlebar and Frame"
• SPECIAL_CLOSE - same as clicking "🗙 Close" in the titlebar - useful when using windows without titlebar
• SPECIAL_EMPTY - can be used when using tiles that span multiple layouts (will be improved in future)

And a lot additional default layouts :)
