local mode doesn't continue session from remote mode

So I was in a remote session working on a task with my phone. Then I decided to switch to local mode.
I assume I could continue work seamlessly on my computer.
Instead I see the "Welcome to Claude Code!" banner and nothing from the session I just was in.
Also it was not in yolo mode, which I was in before.

I also don't know how I can go back to remote mode and continue the task.

i've been using the ipad app as well and when i start Happy CLI with --claude-arg --dangerously-skip-permissions, when i switch to remote mode using ipad and attempt to use ipad app, i just get "process exited" messages on the iPad app. this was a few days ago and haven't checked the latest, but i've not yet been able to interact with mobile apps using --dangerously-skip-permissions successfully yet.

Try to just enable YOLO mode which is the same in the app itself? Comprehensive Report: Session Switch & Related Issues After iOS → Mac Transition

Environment:

• Happy CLI: 0.13.0
• Claude Code: 2.1.12
• macOS: 15.4 (Sequoia)
• Terminal: VSCode integrated terminal (1.108.2)

Issue Description:
When returning from iOS to Mac desktop, the session sometimes switches to a completely different one, even though the terminal window remains open.

Finding 1: Claude Code's --resume Returns New Session ID

Log Analysis

Happy CLI correctly identifies and attempts to resume the existing session:

[ClaudeLocal] Will resume existing session: 74dbaf3b-xxxx
Args: ["--resume","74dbaf3b-xxxx", ...]

However, Claude Code returns a different session ID in its hook response:

Root Cause: Claude Code's Intended Behavior

Existing Claude Code issues confirm this is by design:

• anthropics/claude-code#8069 - CLOSED: NOT_PLANNED
• anthropics/claude-code#10806 - CLOSED: DUPLICATE

Finding 2: Happy Session ID Splitting

The same Claude Code Session ID can be associated with multiple Happy Session IDs:

This suggests Happy CLI is creating new Happy sessions for the same underlying Claude Code session during resume or reconnection events.

Finding 3: Large Session File Causes Errors

When attempting to read a session file in Happy web client:

Error: File content (23.7MB) exceeds maximum allowed size (256KB).

• File: 00ad8956-9ea3-426e-9263-af26b583ddb8.jsonl
• Size: 23.7MB (92x over the 256KB limit)

This may contribute to:

• Resume operations hanging/freezing
• Happy client unable to display session content
• General performance issues

Finding 4: Orphaned Sessions Cannot Be Archived

When attempting to archive a session that has become "unlinked" from Claude Code:

Error: RPC call failed

Context:

• Session appears "online" in the UI
• Clicking "Archive Session" fails
• No way to clean up orphaned sessions from the web interface

Impact:

1. Orphaned sessions accumulate in the session list
2. User confusion - sessions appear online but are non-functional
3. No self-service cleanup option available

Reproduction Rate: Not 100% reproducible. Sometimes sessions resume correctly, sometimes they don't.

Happy to provide more detailed logs if needed by maintainers.
