Toggle button resets on back click

I have integrated this project in my application. My activity has an EditText where user can type.
Below are the steps for my issue:

1. By default the left toggle is enabled on activity start.
2. I enable the right toggle.
3. I start typing something in the EditText.
4. I click back; after this the keyboard hides and along with the left toggle also gets highlighted automatically.
5. This happens in reverse also; select the right toggle button then click on EditText the toggle button automatically enables left toggle button when keyboard shows.

Can someone please help me resolve this?
