You are correct the nathanmarlor integration is the one that has so far been tested and a working Predbat configuration developed, and in fact I have just been updating the documentation with experience of two other FoxESS users, see #2720 I don't have a FoxESS inverter so have no idea how similar the tonym1958 integration is to the nathanmarlor, but I would imagine it is very similar, its probably just that the entity names are different. The latest version of the FoxESS template is on my fork: https://github.com/gcoan/batpred/blob/main/templates/fox.yaml And install docs: Suggest you start from these and try to work out what the equivalent TonyM sensor entity names and work modes are, and Predbat should work. When you get a working config, please share it and I can update the documentation for others. |

Just in case anyone reading this isn't already aware, the new -WL variant of the inverter already includes a built-in MODBUS adaptor, so you don't need to connect via the RS485 port with an adaptor, but instead can point Nathan's integration towards the IP address of the inverter. So no more fiddly wiring. |

Hi all - considering PredBat as I'm currently charging my Fox ESS battery with solar or more often when IOG is at 7p. Whilst this enables me to buy hardly anything at peak rate, I suspect I may not be running at peak optimisation with regard to export, especially when the battery is either full or doesn't need force charging straight away.
As one of the the first to get an H1-G2 inverter, I've been using the TonyM1958 as Tony was particularly helpful in getting the new inverter to work. I do see that the nathanmarlor integration now supports the H1-G2 as well and is the recommended one for PredBat.
Will I have to rip out the TonyM1958 integration and replace it first? I'd really rather not as I have other stuff using it now.
To further complicate things, Fox ESS "bricked" my H1-5.0-E-G2 inverter with firmware upgrade and I now have a warranty replacement H1-6.0-E-G2-WL (yes a free 6Kw upgrade and with the new internal wifi) which does still work with the TonyM integration with no changes. My G-99 has been uprated/approved and I'll be adding some more PV in the Spring to take advantage of it!" :-)
Any suggestions/recommendations/experiences welcome please, before I start?
