Charge and discharge rate issue

Hi I’m currently getting apps.yaml has 2 errors
Charge rate
number.solaredge_i1_storage_charge_limit = = ?
And
Discharge rate- [number.solaredge_i1_storage_discharge_limit]

And the below status of Warn: Return bad float value unavailable from discharge_rate

Any ideas? Happy to pay for an hours instruction on how to fix and make my set up better.

Predbat is looking for two entities in home assistant coming from your inverter integration:

number.solaredge_i1_storage_charge_limit and number.solaredge_i1_storage_discharge_limit

These are respectively the charge and discharge limits that predbat uses to control how fast your inverter is charging or discharging.

If you look in Settings/Devices & Services then Entities, search for these entities, what do you see?

They might be named slightly differently which is why predbat can't pick them up. You can edit apps.yaml to match the entity names or change the entities in HA to match predbat

Or the entities might be named correctly but disabled, in which case enable them

it looks like the integration keeps on failing to get data from the inverter (solaredge i1 entities), the repeated breaks in the history graph suggest a wifi/comms or integration connectivity issue?

Is there anything in the HA logs for the solaredge integration ? Might be worth posting the logs on the solaredge integration github to see if there is anything that the integration can do.

You could create a couple of helper number entities and change predbat's apps.yaml to use those for the charge and discharge rate, but I'd be concerned about this if there is underlying issue. If predbat starts a charge for example and the integration then loses connection the charge would continue longer than you'd want it to.

Hi thanks for coming back to me, I've downloaded the logs (see attached) where should I post this?

Before I change YAML (which I've not done before) lets see if there's any errors in the log that may point me in the right direction. Connectivity is fine across the house on all devices so unsure why there are issues.

Hi, would you be willing to look into further if I paid? I'm tempted to start again from scratch but that feels like a lot of work and it could be a simple fix
