Question. What to do about outdated airports

When outdated airports do not match reality, do we just adjust taxiways to match FG scenery? In attached pic, you can see the FG airport structure misaligned. Should we just match FG layout? (taxiways are from current FG groundnetwork)

My personal take on these is to go with real data ie build a groundnet which uses the real terrain and not the outdated data.

The main reason for that approach is that there is a chance the scenery will be updated outside of your knowledge/control and so more of a long term approach :

If a contributor shares a custom scenery (with an updated WED Layout) to the Forum or if World Scenery V3.0 kicks in or if FG can tomorrow use Photoscenery, chances are these different sources will use the only common data available (ie real world) to build their new terrain.

If you groundnet is built on outdated DAT any change in the underlying terrain will render it void. If your groundnet is built out of real world data, any update is likely to realign the underlying terrain and increase the relevance of your work.

Practically, you need to lookup the real world thresholds Lat/Lon values (eAIP, Physical runways characteristics) and submit an updated thresholds.xml file via groudweb. I ll verify/merge that and as a result your FGA background will show the thresholds and take off pads in the right (real world) position and so your "node on runway" test will pass.

I just tried to update the TWR file and got this error:

Is this from the FG Airports upload panel (don't do that) or via Groundweb file upload (preferred) ?
I had some errors in Groundweb last week but just triggered a second upload and it went through.

Don t use any of these (both FG Airports) when moving a tower.

Just update the XML file (add comment with source data in header) and upload manually with.
