Description

When given the choice to betray (kill) Erandur, instead of dispelling the Staff of nightmares near Dawnstar, the quest stops incomplete and party can't interact with the staff. Potentially blocking Oblivion walker achievement.

Or you can let it dispel and complete the quest by just waiting. But I guess people prefer the staff to a follower.

Steps to reproduce

Reach Dawnstar, speak to Erandur in the inn about nightmares, complete the dungeon, and kill Erandur at the end.

Reproduction rate

  • Consistent: I can reproduce this bug by following the steps to reproduce 100% of the time (every time)
  • Occasional: I can reproduce this bug by following the steps to reproduce around 50% of the time
  • Rare: I can reproduce this bug by following the steps to reproduce around 10% or less of the time
    Not sure, this happened once and it is like a 15 minute quest.

Expected result

The staff becomes interactable after the party kills Erandur
