Chapter 1 explains what simulation is, why it would be used and the sorts of applications to which it might be applied.
Chapter 2 then goes on to describe how simulation software works. Two specific areas are discussed: modelling the progress of time and modelling variability.
Chapter 3 describes the different types of simulation software and the selection of an appropriate package.
