phpactor worse.undefined_variable when variable exists

Issue: Undefined variable "$mysqli" (phpactor worse.undefined_variable) whilst variable definitely does exist. This is a remote server btw. Functions seem to be recognized, but not global variables. Sometimes functions don't work either tho? Just to be clear, this is very vaild php code, even if it is... rather simple. anyway, here is my anger expressed in pictures:

db.php !! omg look we have a db !!! woah look at that variable!!

index.php ?!?! NOPE WRONG YOUR WRONG THAT DOESN'T EXIST !!! (the function does tho dw that's in the SAME FILE as the $mysqli variable but dw dw dw we got u)
