  1. What is the logic behind dividing the data specifically into these periods?
  • 1998-2013: All data available during this period will be used on training and tuning the model
  • 2014-2017: This data will be kept separated from the rest and later used for evaluating the final model.
  1. What is the reason for lingering effect of the heat spots on the subsequent months after the peak? Ideas why does the model doesn't capture it?
  2. I didn't fully understand what the 2nd principal component represents.
  3. So heat spots number increases because of climate change and is not related to deforestation whatsoever. But does deforestation adds up to climate change? Probably a question for another research though. I would add to final thoughts that the hypothesis of deforestation influence on heatspots number was not proved.
