Hi, I’m Hugo Karas 👋

An experimental physicist specialising in improving measurement methods in Electron Paramagnetic Spectroscopy (EPR) in the group of Prof. Jeschke at ETH Zurich. Originally from Sc󠁿otland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 now based in Zürich 🇨🇭

Main Projects

  • autoDEER: is a Python-based GUI and scripted add-on for both homebuilt and Bruker ElexSys EPR spectrometers for performing fully-automated highly-optimised Double Electron Electron Resonance (DEER) spectroscopy.
  • PyEPR: is a Pythonic pulse EPR scripting and automation toolbox. Designed to facilitate the easy creation of automated pulse EPR experiments that are hardware indpendent.
  • DeerLab: I am maintainer here, making sure that its stays up to date and stable. DeerLab is a widely used data analysis for advanced processing of DEER data.
  • pulsespel-vscode: Is a VScode extention to make it easier to write and edit Bruker PulseSpel files, by adding code highlighting.
