@beaufortfrancois any chance that this can get merged? there's a security vulnerability with the current version. I'm trying to get my ancient projects off Polymer but in the meantime...

I don’t work at Google anymore and have lost permissions to merge so you might have to ask on the lit discord to see if someone can merge this and publish a new release on npm.

We could, but it'd have to be a breaking change 'cause it changes how marked is packaged, so pretty good chance it'd break users.

Counter-question: why use the ancient Polymer marked-element? A Lit version is way simpler, I threw together a little one here: https://lit.dev/playground/#gist=4a1301df0122d899921dd216c8410255 in fifteen minutes.

because I have an ancient website that I haven't migrated lol. I haven't worked on it extensively in years. at this point the only real option is a complete rebuild in which case I would just use WordPress

I decided to upgrade my component to Lit for fun and it only took me two days! (what with migrating to Rollup, TypeScript, etc.) anyway here's what I ended up with going with for my implementation in case it helps someone else who also needs to migrate.
