This pull request updates the project's licensing from MIT to GNU General Public License v2.0 (GPL-2.0-only). The change affects the main configuration, documentation, and the license file itself, reflecting a shift to a more restrictive copyleft license that requires derivative works to also be distributed under GPL v2.

Licensing changes:

  • Changed the license in Cargo.toml from "MIT" to "GPL-2.0-only".
  • Replaced the contents of license.md from the MIT License text to the full GNU GPL v2.0 license text.

Documentation updates:

  • Updated the license badge in readme.md to show GPL v2 instead of MIT.
  • Changed the license reference in the "About" section of readme.md to point to the GNU General Public License v2.0.
