For using fixed income ETFs(especially short-term ones like SHY, ICSH, SGOV...) as benchmarks, historical closes do not reflect dividends, which are the main yields for such funds. Adjusted closes mitigate such issue and make it easier to compare to other benchmarks or personal portfolios.
