I agree a bit with the concerns, but I think it's valuable to emphasize the face grouping. And even removing the grouping doesn't make the stickers much larger, unfortunately. I strongly prefer the existing icon over the proposed change, although there is perhaps a middle ground. |

The current FTO icon looks a bit strange with the bigger gaps in the middle, and it also causes all of the triangles to be too small and a bit illegible at small scales. The new icon looks like this:
