Storage
The storage module of OLF depends on a hierarchy of the following order
- StorageLocation: e.g. a building and a room
- StorageType: e.g. a freezer or a nitrogen tank
- Compartment: e.g. a container
- Box: e.g. the sub-unit containing the sample in a pre-defined grid
You can browse the whole storage hierarchy by clicking on Storage > Browse:

You can add new samples to existing boxes by going to the sample's show page (see Creating-Content for more details). If storage has been configured for your sample you can find a storage tab at the bottom of the page.

The storage tab shows at the top how many copies of the given sample are left. When opening it, it will show you either a box containing the most recent copy of the sample or the most recently used box. You can now click on an empty cell in the box (red) to add your sample. You can then see your sample as green cell. Clicking on a green cell will allow you to remove your sample. Yellow boxes indicate occupied boxes used by different samples. Clicking on them will open the other sample's respective view page. A DataObject sometimes contains SubDataObjects which is currently only the case for CellLineData where you can specify different passages. In CellLineData you will find a select box with different passages where you can select one. By doing so you specify that you want to put a specific passage rather than the general sample into this cell. The view will change accordingly so that only samples with the exact same passage will be green. Different passages will now appear blue.
