- Download or clone this repository
- Open Chrome and navigate to
chrome://extensions/ - Enable "Developer mode" in the top-right corner
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension directory
- The extension icon should appear in your browser toolbar
- Click the QuickSnap QR icon in your browser toolbar
- Take a screenshot containing a QR code using your preferred method
- The extension will automatically scan the QR code and redirect to the URL if one is found
- If multiple QR codes are detected, you'll be prompted to select one
QuickSnap QR uses the jsQR library for efficient QR code detection and decoding. The extension operates with the following components:
- Background Script: Handles core functionality and communication between components
- Content Script: Interacts with web pages to extract and process images
- Popup Interface: Provides user controls and feedback
QuickSnap QR respects your privacy:
- No data is sent to external servers
- All QR code processing happens locally in your browser
