cross_obs

cross_obs is the driver program for cross-scan observation at Nanshan Radio Telescope (NSRT) in Uruqmi. The program provides user-friendly GUI, replacing the previously used command line tool controlTK. Most of the infrastructures are updated from the continuum observing program written by Peter Mueller from MPIfR.

how to use it

simply run cross_obs

the GUI

The GUI of the application in a typical Linux environment is showing bellow.

• Project: the project name or ID
• PI: the name of the principal investigator
• Schedule File: click on Browse button to choose the file containing the observation scheule
• Once: observe the schedule just once
• Repeat: observe the schedule repeatly utill the stop button is clicked on
• EL 5-85, EL 10-80 and EL 15-75: threshold for telescope elevation, beyond which the telescope will skip the target and go to the next one automatically
