Lithium is how we want Hytale servers to be built in the future.
It will be written from scratch in C#, with one simple idea in mind: do things properly, without being held back by an old Java stack that was never designed for what Hytale is trying to become.
Instead of just copying what already exists, Lithium will take a different path.
It will focus on performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability, so servers can grow, evolve, and handle real-world workloads without constantly fighting their own tech.
The goal is for servers powered by Lithium to simply feel better to use.
They should be faster, more stable, and able to handle more players and more complex worlds without falling apart. Over time, this should translate into smoother gameplay, fewer crashes, and servers that can actually keep up with what creators want to build.
Lithium is also being built with developers in mind.
Using C# and the .NET ecosystem will make it possible to work with modern tools, clean APIs, and a workflow that feels predictable instead of fragile. The idea is to make building server logic, plugins, and game systems feel natural and enjoyable, even when projects start getting big and complex.
Lithium is our bet on what Hytale server technology should look like in the years to come.
A platform that will be fast, scalable, and actually pleasant to work with, so people can focus on creating great experiences instead of fighting the engine behind them.
Lithium is an open project and will grow with the people who use it.
We will be welcoming contributors, plugin developers, server owners, and anyone who wants to help shape the future of Hytale servers. Whether it is code, ideas, testing, or feedback, everything will help move the project forward.
