The QuickRecording add-on is a simple, fast voice recorder that allows you to quickly record audio using the default microphone set in your Windows settings.
Once recording is complete, a WAV file with the current date in its name will be automatically saved to the Downloads folder located in your Windows user directory.
There are no additional configuration options for this add-on.
- The recording uses native Windows tools.
- To install or select another default microphone, you can only do so through the Windows settings.
- You can convert the WAV file format, such as to MP3, using any convenient converter.
- Recorded files are always automatically saved to the "Downloads" folder—you cannot choose an alternative location.
- The recorded file's name always includes the date and time of the recording.
- WAV format specifications: 2 channels, 16-bit, 44,100 Hz.
- Control + Windows + Backslash — Start/stop recording.
- Control+Shift+Backslash — To toggle between the types of start/stop recording notifications.
You can change these keyboard shortcuts in the "input gestures" section under «Quick Recording».
- A shortcut has been added to cycle through different types of start/stop recording notifications between a sound signal and speech.
- By default, after installing the add-on, the notification type is set to short sounds.
- After each mode switch, the setting is saved in the configuration and can be used in other NVDA sessions.
- Short sounds indicate the beginning of recording with a high tone and the end of recording with a low tone.
- Initial release.
