As per the description in the fork, I randomly wanted a quick timer this weekend and had Emacs in front of me and was shocked when there wasn't an basic one built in, then found egg-timer.el and thought it'd work fine, then got distracted changing how it processed input so I could choose to free form my timers, then continued to get distracted because it was a fun little thing to do.
I have no idea if you want to add this level of complexity into such a nice simple little package or not and I'm happy for you to not merge this level of silliness.
