Will having many aliases slow down your machine?
Firstly, it is not encouraged for you to have many aliases in your machine. You won't use all of them anyway. We tested with a 100,000 aliases and it did not slow down the shell that much. If you use alias frequently, you might as well use an alias manager to manage your shortcuts.
