Okra is considered a bush crop, which means it can be planted on dirt or grass. It does not need farmland or water to grow.
Okra is harvested by right-clicking them, after which it will return to an earlier crop stage instead of breaking. Mature okra bushes yield 1-2 okra when harvested by the player, which can then be eaten or used in cooking.
As a bush crop, okra is vulnerable to damage from animals.
Okra does not generate in the world naturally, and must be traded from villagers. Novice-level farmer villagers have a chance to sell 4 okra for 1 emerald.
Okra, in the place of carrots or potatoes, can be an extremely rare drop from zombies.
Eating okra restores 1 hunger and 0.1 hunger saturation.
Placing okra into a composter has a 65% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
